Dr. So Kar Kui

Chairman of Board of Directors and Founding Member, CCAF

Dr So Kar Kui was born in 1963. As his father worked in the hospital, Dr So spent his childhood and adolescence in a medical environment, planting seeds to his career as a medical practitioner. After becoming a specialist in geriatric medicine, he spent 25 years working in the HK Hospital Authority before starting his own clinic - Gerona Medical Centre.

In 2009 Dr So and a group of caring professionals in HK started Community CareAge Foundation to promote the well-being of low-income elderly citizens by offering free of charge nursing care, health assessment and consultation, and health education, so that the elders may enjoy their twilight years safely and healthily in the community they call home. Dr So has been Chairman of CCAF since 2009.

Dr. Chan Wah Fat

Vice Chairman of Board of Directors, CCAF

Dr Chan graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of HK in 1985.  He joined the Mental Health Service after internship and then the Hospital Authority upon its establishment.  He had been a consultant psychiatrist since 1995. He specializes in general adult psychiatry and psychogeriatrics.  He had been the Honorary Secretary and then Honorary Treasurer of the HK College of Psychiatrists and is currently a Council Member.  He helped founded the HK Psychogeriatric Association in late 1990s and had been its President for four years about a decade ago and is currently a Council Member too.  He retired in July 2018 and has then engaged in private psychiatric practice.
   
Mr. Yu Hon Choi, Edward

Founding member, Director and Treasurer of the Board, CCAF

Mr Edward Yu holds a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada and a professional membership of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration, U.S.A. He has over 30 years of experience in capital markets, computer turnkey design and manufacturing, minerals trading and building mine production projects. Edward is currently Chairman of The Capital Market Global Limited and Vice-chairman of BlackRock Metals Inc., Canada and has various investment holding interests in many countries.

Since 1984, Edward has actively participated and served in numerous charity organizations as founder, donor and service participant. Over the years, Edward has been an active donor and service program sponsor for many charities and humanity projects especially to those under-privileged children and teens in various regions of China through his personal, family and companies’charitable trusts. His charitable merits include :

  • Being one of the key donors to the founding of the Late Madame Sun Yat Sin Children’s Technology & Recreation Centre in Beijing, China.
  • Being one of the founders of “Children’s Cancer Fund of the Chinese University of Hong Kong” which was later renamed in 1991 as “Children’s Cancer Foundation”. Edward is now Vice-chairman of CCF.
  • In 1994-95, Edward was the sole donor and service program sponsor for the Geriatric services Center of the Tuen Mun Hospital of Hong Kong.
Mr Edward Yu is currently also Vice Chairman of Children Cancer Foundation
   
Mr. Tam Ka Ming, Leo
 
Founding member, and Director of the Board, CCAF

Mr Leo Tam is by profession a Registered Social Worker. He has a long history in serving the community. He is Founder and Chairman of 1st Step Association, a non-profit-making charitable corporation committed to providing counselling and support services to patients who are severely injured at work or in other accidents.

Currently, Mr Leo Tam is Committee Member of the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund under Labour and Welfare Bureau
   
Ms Li Lai Kam, Hilda

Miss Hilda Li is by profession a Clinical Psychologist and Hypnosis Scientist. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Canada in the 1980’s and her Master degree at the University of Iowa of United States. Miss Li is now engaged in psychotherapy and teaching work, and offers voluntary service to a number of social services organizations.
   
Mr. Ip Shu Wah

Mr Ip Shu Wah is by profession a senior executive in Administration and Business Management.
   
Ms Lo Yuen Yee, Dabby

Founding member, and Director of the Board, and Chairman of Volunteer Development Committee, CCAF

Ms Dabby Lo is a registered CNS and Renal nurse specialist. She has 14 years of service with the HK Hospital Authority, making her way from general wards to the Renal special ward. She left to pursue her CNS role to assist patients on their road to recovery after discharge from the hospital. She actively promotes community health care, and is currently hosting the medical online program “醫護同行”broadcast on D100 digital radio.

Apart from her community nursing expertise, Ms Dabby Lo also excels as a hypnosis scientist and a psychotherapist.

Dr. Yeung Pan
 
Founding member and Director of the Board, Chairman of Professional Support Committee, CCAF 

Dr Yeung Pan is a specialist in geriatric medicine, currently in private practice. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1994, Dr Yeung joined Princess Margaret Hospital, and served in the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics for over 20 years. Before he left to start his own clinic in 2015, he was Associate Consultant of the department cum Honorary Assistant Professor of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics under the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr Yeung has a wealth of clinical experience in geriartric medicine, from serving in the public health sector as well as form his private practice. Apart from his public service, Dr Yeung spends a lot of time volunteering for non profit-making NGOs for the benefits of the needy elderly.
